This year, we are especially highlighting the principle of Intergenerational Struggle—recognizing that every step forward in the fight for educational justice has been made possible by the collective efforts of multiple generations.
We kick off the week by honoring the 61st anniversary of the 1964 New York City school boycott, one of the largest student-led protests of the Civil Rights Movement, and continue with engaging events focused on abolitionist teaching, personal storytelling, mindfulness and creativity, and a celebration of Black joy to close out the week.
